Exquisite Corpse Project

This project although very difficult, was a lot of fun. It was difficult dealing with the site but after we found our site we had to create a collage of our project. We used different materials and such to create perspectives.

This new obstruction: Exquisite Corpse. Does not sound good at all but it started very interesting. We have to take the plans and cut them in various ways to put it back. we then look at sections of this new form and try to understand the size, proportions, or scale of the geometry. Here are the three versions of this cut and paste ideas. Will be working on scale and more sections now.

Crit went well!
This is my presentation of the project. I believe the best part of this project was the mold. It shows a character that the model and the drawings lacked. But all in all I did like this project.

Today is the Flip Flop Crit. The process to get here was difficult. If I had to reevaluate the time I had, I would start by getting my concept down earlier. I did not really explore everything until it was later. The program was being made later than expected but I eventually understood it. The presentation will be at 2pm. Everything is finished but I will try to go back to add more detail in my final products.

Attempt one at this plaster mold. I know now how to assemble this correctly. The first mold came out flipped. But it was a great try. Next step is figuring out the wire drawing...either sections or plans.

Two versions of a flip flop house. This project was more about taking a key feature of Villa Planeix and doing the inverted version of that. For instance Villa Planeix has mainly load bearing walls; now they will be inverted to pilots. We design this process in 5 steps with the 5th model being the final product with all of the changes added. Then we do the same thing but starting with the last one. So if Pilots was the first change in the first set, it would then be the last step in the second set.

Drawings are complete! I hope to go back on Monday to look at any possible mistakes.
Next Step: Model

I started to look at different windows designed by Le Corbusier and I stumbled across a recent post regarding other famous architects and their windows. Really interesting and accurate. Architects and Their Windows
Thinking ahead, I have found a link to a video. This talks about how someone draws something without any lines however they still cut paper out. Im curious if this is what we will be doing for our next project. Cut Out Drawing no drawings, but many cuts.

This is the mock layout for the final presentation for Slim Fast Diet.
*Some changes will occur*

Tuesday, February 14, 2017

The important aspects that are inside the new slim fast diet design is the idea of slope and how it plays a role in the model.
The first one shows the sections and how the height of the spaces look inside.

This section shows the section elevation of the all three buildings.
Our new project has to do with how slim this project can be without it being to overwhelming. Here is a portion of the master space. This shows that most of the needed pieces are integrated inside the wall to allow more room.

Good Morning All!
Turns out Villa Planeix was for sale? Not sure if it still is today but it may have been worth a look!

The First section shows the clear definition of the exterior and interior as well as the access into the third and upper apartment.
Here are the plans of Villa Planeix. Through the plans you notice the three apartment spaces for the families. Villa Planeix is different from other buildings because it has a bridge to the exterior garden as well as a small roof garden.
